Red Stag Spiropoulos

A rich and balanced palate of soft tannins and a long finish characterizes this wine. The color is deep red with slight purple hues. Intense and complex; hints of wood, vanilla, cherries and black forest fruits perfectly balance this wine.
Red Stag is ready to be enjoyed today or aged for a few years.
Using Agiorgitiko grapes from the mountainous vineyards of the famous NEMEA AOC region, Domaine Spiropoulos created this wine in a simple,traditional, Bourdeaux - like manner. The grapes, after de-stemming are moderate crashed and macerated. Fermentationis happening simultaneously with gentle maceration at 78- 82.4º F. After two or three rackings the wine is stored in 225 litter French oak barrels mainly from the Allier and Nevers forests. It remainsthere undisturbed for 10 to 13 months, before bottled, the wine then matures in the winery cellars for a minimum period of five months.
