Variety: Limniona 100%
Vineyard: 10-year-old vines in argillic clayish ground with northwest exposure in the area of Karditsa, Central Greece
This single variety, dry red wine is made from the heirloom Greek variety, Limnionia (Lim noy ne ya). It is grown in a small village on the mountainside of Thessaly, a region with a long history of wine making. Aged in French and American oak barrels. It has a vivid red color with purple hues, a rich, round body and long aftertaste. Cherry and raspberry is accompanied by vanilla and tobacco aromas, with an undertone of white and green pepper. It has a high acidity but a nice tannic balance, making it soft and long.
Pairs exceptionally well with red meats, grilled lamp, spicy food and cheeses and traditional Mediterranean cuisine with meat.
